A place for introductions in The Woodworking Shed Community.

Community Meet & Greet!
Hey everyone!
I'm so excited to build a strong community here at The Woodworking Shed. To kick things off, I thought it would be fun to have a virtual "meet and greet" with all subscribers!
So, let's all introduce ourselves!
I'll start!
I'm Daniel, a 33-year-old Project Engineer from Leicestershire, UK. I'm a new woodworker, learning the craft from scratch in my (very) small shed.
I'm passionate about making woodworking accessible to everyone, and I'm always eager to learn from others.
What drew me to The Woodworking Shed? When I started out on this journey, a friend of mine “convinced” me to write about it. I haven’t looked back since. Woodworking & writing are one and the same for me now.
Now it's your turn! Let us know:
A little about yourself.
What's your woodworking experience? (Beginner, hobbyist, pro, etc.)
What kind of woodworking do you enjoy? (Furniture, carving, etc.)
What brought you to The Woodworking Shed?
Anything else you'd like to share!
Make sure to like and interact with other members! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Daniel, I’m Larry. I’m an engineer with both a mechanical and electronics background. (>34 years of post university experience).
I’m an amateur luthier and a German hand tool enthusiast. I’m reworking the arrangement of my tools in my shed (which is larger than yours - mine is 25 feet x 10 feet inside). I bought some stationary but still small power tools during the pandemic in 2020-2021 when I could not get to the shared shop I had been using for table saw/band saw/router table/ etc. But now it is too tight in here to get anything done and I have a bunch of stuff everywhere. So I am slowly trying to get it all together and get back to building instruments and furniture and not working on my shop and buying tools(I might have a mild problem when it comes to this).
Hello there! My name is Greg, and I’m 66, retired(twice), and live in rural eastern Kentucky in the Appalachian Mountains. I grew up around woodworking, my grandfather had a well equipped cabinet shop, and my father and uncles were all craftsmen of one sort or another. I’ve always done small-ish woodworking projects, and after retiring from a career in the Army, and again from construction management, decided to build a small shop and teach myself joinery and furniture making. I use a hybrid approach, with both a few power tools, and a constantly growing hand tool collection. My current obsession is stick chairs…🫣
